The Restore The Trust Initiative is an internal TBTF program. TBTF may allocate up to 10% of its unrestricted operating revenue to this initiative. Its purpose is direct: provide reentry support to African American men recently released from incarceration through education, employment, and financial-stability initiatives.
We do not believe incarceration and gun violence are separate problems. They are the same wound , economic exclusion , expressed at different points in a man's life. A young man who cannot access opportunity, community, or belonging reaches for what is available to him. The Restore The Trust Initiative addresses the root.

Reentry is the most vulnerable moment in a man's life. He leaves incarceration with a record that follows him everywhere, limited employment options, and often no financial foundation to rebuild from. The Restore The Trust Initiative provides direct reentry support , covering the practical costs of beginning again.
This is not charity. This is what community looks like when it decides that no man in its circle is disposable. The same principle that governs TBTF's mutual aid rounds governs the Restore The Trust Initiative: we show up for each other before we are needed, because the circle only works when everyone is in it.
The coordination fee is paid to TBTF for case administration and platform operations. TBTF may allocate up to 10% of its unrestricted operating revenue to its Restore The Trust initiative, a TBTF-operated program serving young Black men through reentry, education, and financial-stability initiatives. Your membership does not just support you , it supports the men in our community who need the most help starting over.

The Black Trust Fund takes a clear position: gun violence in Black communities is an economic crisis before it is a safety crisis.
Young Black men are not inherently violent. They are human beings placed in conditions of profound scarcity , where belonging, opportunity, and investment have been systematically withheld. When a community has been excluded from every legitimate pathway to dignity, some of its members will find other pathways.
TBTF is building the legitimate pathway.
Every founding member who joins TBTF is voting with their resources that the young men in their community deserve a table that was built for them. Every round that closes successfully is proof that Black communities can and do take care of their own.
The Restore The Trust Initiative is the extension of that belief into its most urgent application , reaching the men who are closest to the edge and giving them a reason to come back to the circle.
